Christopher Fettig

CHRISTOPHER FETTIG, director
Christopher Fettig received his B.S. degree from Bemidji State University and his M.A.
in choral conducting from the University of Illinois. He is in his 23 year as choral
director at Bemidji High School. In 1991 he received the Outstanding Young Choral
Director award from the ACDA of Minnesota and served two years as the Northwest
District chair. In 1999 Mr. Fettig was named Teacher of the Year for ISD 31 and selected
as one of eight Honor Roll Teachers in the Minnesota Teacher of the Year Program. In
2000 he served as a Regional Representative for the Minnesota Music Educators
Association. The ACDA of Minnesota named him Choral Director Of The Year in 2007.
Mr. Fettig is very active with music in the community as well. He is co-founder and
director of the Bemidji Boychoir and president of Show Choirs Of Bemidji, Incorporated,
an organization he started to help promote vocal music in the Bemidji area.


THE BEMIDJI HIGH SCHOOL A CAPPELLA CHOIR
The Bemidji High School A Cappella Choir has performed under Mr. Fettig’s direction
on four separate occasions at State ACDA and MMEA conventions. In addition to these
performances the choir was featured in 1997 at the Central Division Music Educators
National Conference in Peoria, Illinois and in 2000 they performed at the American
Choral Directors Association North Central Division Convention in Madison, Wisconsin.
The choir has also performed twice on stage at Orchestra Hall, Minneapolis, MN, first in
1993 at the Northstar Choral Festival and again in 2007 at the Choral Finale. The choir
has toured annually for the past 22 years, performing in venues including The National
Cathedral, Washington, D.C., and Carnegie Hall, N.Y.
