TIMOTHY PETER
Dr. Timothy Peter, head of the music department and Professor of Music at Luther College, conducts the Collegiate Chorale, a 90-voice select Junior-Senior choral ensemble and Luther’s first-year 90-voice men’s choir, Norsemen. After growing up on a farm in Minnesota, Peter received his undergraduate degree from Luther College, working with Weston Noble and completed the degree of Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Arizona, under the direction of Dr. Maurice Skones. Previous to his appointment at Luther College in 1991, he was a high school choral director and church musician in Iowa and Arizona. He has been the state and divisional Repertoire and Standards chair for College and University Choirs for the American Choral Directors Association. His choirs have been selected to perform at Divisional NC-ACDA conventions held in Minneapolis, MN, Sioux Falls, SD, and Madison, WI. His off-campus teaching, adjudicating, and conducting includes numerous appearances as a convention presenter, festival clinician, and all-state conductor in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. He has prepared choirs and orchestras for performances at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis, Orchestra Hall and Rockefeller Chapel in Chicago, the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, the TWA Center in St. Louis, Overture Center for the Arts in Madison, the Alamodome in San Antonio, the Seoul Foreign School Center for the Performing Arts, and Carnegie Hall in New York City. He has conducted in Germany, Namibia (Africa), Oman (Middle-East), South Africa, and South Korea. He is the proud father of two sons, Andrew and Michael and is married to Dr. Sandra K. Peter, also on the faculty in the music department at Luther College.

LUTHER COLLEGE NORSEMEN
The Norsemen are exclusively first-year men at Luther College. The 90-voice auditioned ensemble shares Luther's bedrock choral experience with Aurora, the treble choir counterpart for first-year women. While many men in the ensemble are pursuing a major in music, membership includes varsity athletes, service organization leaders, and a representation of a variety of major disciplines across campus. Norsemen participate in the musical life at Luther College including "on-campus" events such as Family Weekend, Homecoming, the annual Norsemen/Aurora Spring Concert, and the nationally televised Christmas at Luther performances, which involves over 550 singers. They have performed off-campus in numerous ACDA-affiliated conventions and workshops as well as concert appearances in Midwestern congregations and schools. More than 80 percent of these young men study applied voice from the music department's 14 voice faculty
