Junior High/Middle School Choirs

Welcome to the NC-ACDA Junior High/Middle School Choir area of our website. I began working with the adolescent voice twenty-three years ago. Meeting the needs of the young, adolescent, developing voice has always been a passion of mine.
How many of you have panicked at the thought of selecting literature for the middle level choirs in your program? At some point, have you felt the frustration of trying to solve the wonders of the changing voice, or maybe struggled with the key to keeping them involved in the choral program? If you can answer yes to any of these things, you have a common bond with hundreds of choral directors around the North Central Region.
We’re delighted to offer our new searchable database. Titles are being added from state and division recommendations as well as from archived Melisma High 5’s. The R&S database project will be ongoing. Please stop by often to check our progress.
Our goal in the Junior High/Middle School area is to WORK TOGETHER to meet the needs of young, adolescent, developing voices. We are not alone in the challenges that this area presents. Through our collective knowledge, we are able to give the young singers, as well as the young choral directors, the tools to continue the positive growth of the adolescent voices in our region.
