It is the hope of the North Central ACDA leadership that this website can be of assistance to you as you plan your year or if you hit a bump in the road during the year and have to reassess, you can turn to NC-ACDA to help you get back on track.

I felt the National Convention in Chicago had great sessions for high school music educators and bravo to the National Repertoire & Standards chairs for putting together an outstanding repertoire list of “tried and true” octavos in all choral areas. What an excellent resource for the newer music educator as well as a refresher list for those of us who have been teaching for a while. I highly recommend this booklet. If you didn’t get a copy, please check on the national ACDA website for information on how to order a copy.

No matter how we spend our summer “vacations,” we all need a break from the normal routine. I would encourage you to take time to re-energize by attending a summer workshop or two. I find the camaraderie of fellow music educators and the interesting presenters to be invigorating and just what I need to get myself back into school mode.

If you are looking for repertoire suggestions, we’re delighted to offer our new searchable database. Titles are being added from state and division recommendations as well as from archived Melisma High 5’s. The R&S database project will be ongoing. Please stop by often to check our progress.
