It is my pleasure to be a part of NC-ACDA Repertoire & Standards in Vocal Jazz. Vocal Jazz education has always been an important priority in my professional life. The rise of vocal jazz ensembles has been significant and I applaud the efforts of many secondary institutions for investing in the education of future music educators in vocal jazz techniques. These demonstrations of growth are significant.
Growth has not been easy however. New learning for both student and teacher takes time and interest. Finding quality music and instruction on effective methodology is an ongoing process. Opportunities for professional development continue to expand through workshops and festival settings and now website offerings. Use this website as a source for what you need to find success in vocal jazz.
If you are looking for repertoire suggestions, we’re delighted to offer our new searchable database. Titles are being added from state and division recommendations as well as from archived Melisma High 5’s. The R&S database project will be ongoing. Please stop by often to check our progress.
